Emily A. Tomasino   Associate

Practice Focus
Attorney Tomasino focuses her practice on special needs planning and elder law. She works with individuals with disabilities and their families to create estate plans to maximize wealth preservation, prepare for long-term care, and maintain eligibility for public and private benefits. Specifically, she advises her clients on how to achieve and preserve eligibility for benefits from the Departments of Developmental Services and Mental Health, the Social Security Administration, and MassHealth. In addition, Attorney Tomasino counsels clients on issues such as Medicare and residential placement.

Attorney Tomasino’s estate planning practice includes preparing wills, family trusts, credit shelter trusts, life insurance trusts, Medicaid trusts, supplemental needs trusts, and OBRA ’93 trusts. In addition, Attorney Tomasino works with clients to avoid the need for guardianship or conservatorship by taking advantage of less restrictive alternatives, such as durable powers of attorney, appointments of advocate, and health care proxies. When necessary, she represents clients at the probate court on guardianship and conservatorship matters.
